A tour of the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi (the Hunting Residence of Stupinigi), is surely not to be missed. Following its path dedicated to the restoration of its rooms and decor. The new touristic journey starts from the Corte d’Onore, leading onto the juvarriana stables. From here you reach the alferiana library, the Galleria di Levante and the stable rooms. You then explore the main hall adorned with extraordinary wall lamps, firescreen and sumptuous chandeliers, the key attraction, from where a majority of the architectural arrangement of the territory branches off. The tour is complete arriving in the Appartamento di Levante, so called by the Dukes of Chiablese according to a ceremonial route which starts from the hallway and the Camera di Parata, passing through lounges, bedrooms and offices, ending up in the Camera da Gioco. Assigned to Filippo Juvarra the Sabauda residence was used for hunting and hosting parties for the aristocratic beginning in 1729, the Palazzina di Caccia di Stupinigi is one of the monumental jewels of Turin, only ten kilometres from Piazza Castello, strategically situated in a perfect location. At the beginning of the twentieth century Queen Margheritachose it as her summer residence, and since 1919 it has housed the Museum of Art and Furniture. It forms the leading element of Mauritian historical and artistic heritage.
