The transformation of gastronomies into informal restaurants is what happened to the historical Pastificio Defilippis laboratory, founded in 1872 in Turin, always located at number 39 Via Lagrange. It has kept pace with the times without losing its primary function as a laboratory-gastronomy, simply evolving into a new contemporary format where the primary function of laboratory-gastronomy has evolved into a pasta factory-gastronomy and restaurant.

Efforts have been made to maintain in the furnishings that 19th-20th century aura, but adding a contemporary allure with designer lamps and particular yet functional seating.

Transitioning through what has now become one of Turin’s most elegant shopping streets, thanks to pedestrianization, past the outdoor seating, you enter the two rooms: one area exclusively dedicated to the gastronomy service and another part as a restaurant. Upstairs, there is a larger room with 40 seats overlooking Via Lagrange, making a total of 60 indoor seats, supplemented by a pleasant outdoor seating area with approximately 30 seats.

The cuisine of Pastificio Defilippis is typically Piedmontese, with pasta certainly taking the lead, offering a wide assortment of stuffed pastas, but also including appetizers, main courses, and desserts from the Italian tradition.

Each dish can be paired with wines from the best wineries, particularly those from Piedmont.
